أجلت السلطات الفلبينية أكثر من 150 ألف شخص، أمس، من مناطق ساحلية يتوقع أن تتأثر بالإعصار «كالماغي» الذي يقترب من جزر أرخبيل فيساياس، ترافقه رياح تصل سرعتها إلى 140 كيلومتراً في الساعة، بحسب الهيئة الوطنية للأرصاد الجوية.
وقال نائب مدير مكتب الدفاع المدني رافايليتو أليخاندرو إن عمليات الإجلاء جرت لما يصل لـ156 ألف شخص على سبيل الاحتراز.
وأضاف أليخاندرو في مؤتمر صحفي، أنه من المتوقع أن تصل العاصفة إلى اليابسة بعد منتصف الليل بالتوقيت المحلي.
وقبل ذلك قال رويل مونيسا المسؤول عن إدارة الكوارث الطبيعية إن عمليات إجلاء جرت في منطقتي بالو وتاناوان اللتين يقطنهما نحو 140 ألف شخص.
وسبق لهاتين المنطقتين أن تعرضتا لأضرار بالغة جراء الإعصار «هايان» الذي ضرب البلاد في 2013 وأودى بحياة ستة آلاف شخص على الأقل.
ويضرب الفلبين أو يقترب منها نحو 20 إعصاراً وعاصفة سنوياً، وغالباً ما تلحق الأضرار الكبرى بأفقر مناطق البلاد.

Deputy Director of the Civil Defense Office, Ravaileto Alejandro, stated that evacuation operations were carried out for up to 156,000 people as a precaution.
Alejandro added in a press conference that the storm is expected to make landfall after midnight local time.
Prior to this, Roel Munisa, the official in charge of disaster management, said that evacuations took place in the areas of Palo and Tanawan, which are home to about 140,000 people.
These two areas had previously suffered severe damage from Typhoon "Haiyan," which struck the country in 2013 and claimed the lives of at least six thousand people.
About 20 typhoons and storms hit or approach the Philippines annually, often causing significant damage to the poorest regions of the country.
