لقي 24 شخصا على الأقل حتفهم وأصيب 18 آخرون بعد اصطدام حافلة ركاب بشاحنة في ولاية تيلانجانا بجنوب الهند.
وقالت الشرطة الهندية، إن الحادث وقع بينما كانت الحافلة التي تقل نحو 70 راكبا، متجهة إلى حيدر آباد، عاصمة الولاية.
وأفادت التقارير بأن الشاحنة كانت تنقل حصى، واصطدمت بالحافلة بقوة هائلة، ما أدى إلى احتجاز عدد من الركاب داخلها.
وتشير التحقيقات الأولية إلى أن السرعة المفرطة وفقدان السيطرة من قبل سائق الشاحنة كانت الأسباب المحتملة للحادث.
وقالت الشرطة، إن من بين القتلى سائقي الحافلة والشاحنة، إضافة إلى طفل يبلغ من العمر 10 أشهر مع والدته. وقد بدأت السلطات تحقيقا في الحادث.
يذكر أن الحوادث المرورية شائعة في الهند نتيجة الحمولة الزائدة والبنية التحتية السيئة والقيادة المتهورة.
At least 24 people have died and 18 others were injured after a passenger bus collided with a truck in the state of Telangana in southern India.
Indian police stated that the accident occurred while the bus, carrying around 70 passengers, was heading to Hyderabad, the state capital.
Reports indicated that the truck was transporting gravel and collided with the bus with tremendous force, leading to several passengers being trapped inside.
Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed and loss of control by the truck driver were potential causes of the accident.
The police reported that among the deceased were the drivers of the bus and the truck, as well as a 10-month-old baby with their mother. Authorities have begun an investigation into the incident.
It is worth noting that traffic accidents are common in India due to overloading, poor infrastructure, and reckless driving.
