تحولت رحلة عادية على طريق ترابي في بلدية فاكارييا، شمال شرق ولاية ريو غراندي دو سول بجنوب البرازيل، إلى مأساة يوم 22 أكتوبر، حين فقدت سيلفانا دا فاتيما براغانكا دا لوز (54 عاماً) السيطرة على شاحنتها فانقلبت واصطدمت بخلية نحل.
هرع والدها راؤول بورتيلا دا لوز (79 عاماً)، الذي يعيش معها في مزرعة قريبة، لإنقاذها، لكن شجاعته انتهت بمأساة مزدوجة، بعدما هاجمهما النحل المتهيج، وفقاً لتقارير الشرطة المدنية وإدارة الإطفاء.
وكان أحد أحد الجيران قد سمع الضجة وأبلغ والدي سيلفانا أثناء انتظار وصول فرق الطوارئ، التي تأخرت بسبب المسافة الطويلة التي تجاوزت 40 ميلاً، فهرعا لإنقاذها وتعرض الأب للسعات شديدة أثناء محاولته إنقاذ ابنته ونُقل إلى المستشفى في حالة حرجة، لكنه توفي في اليوم التالي متأثراً بجراحه، فيما لم تصمد الابنة أيضاً وتُوفيت في موقع الحادث، أما والدة سيلفانا فقد نجت بعد تلقي العلاج.
An ordinary journey on a dirt road in the municipality of Vacaria, northeast of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, turned into a tragedy on October 22, when Silvana da Fátima Bragança da Luz (54 years old) lost control of her truck, which overturned and crashed into a beehive.
Her father, Raul Portela da Luz (79 years old), who lives with her on a nearby farm, rushed to save her, but his bravery ended in a double tragedy when they were attacked by the agitated bees, according to reports from the civil police and the fire department.
One of the neighbors heard the commotion and informed Silvana's parents while waiting for the emergency teams, which were delayed due to the long distance of over 40 miles. They rushed to save her, and the father suffered severe stings while trying to rescue his daughter and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he died the next day from his injuries, while the daughter also did not survive and passed away at the accident site. Silvana's mother survived after receiving treatment.
