في جريمة مأساوية هزّت ولاية ماهاراشترا الهندية، أقدم رجل على قتل طفلتيه التوأم البالغتين عامين فقط، عقب مشادة حادة مع زوجته خلال رحلة عائلية تحوّلت إلى مأساة مروّعة في منطقة أنشاروادي بمقاطعة بولدهانا.
ووفقاً لتقارير الشرطة التي نقلها موقع NDTV، فإن الجاني يُدعى راهول شافان، ويقيم في منطقة واشيم، حيث اندلع خلاف عنيف مع زوجته أثناء الرحلة، ما دفعها إلى مغادرة السيارة والعودة إلى منزل والديها غاضبة.
وبعد مغادرتها، اصطحب شافان الطفلتين إلى منطقة غابات قريبة، وهناك ارتكب جريمته البشعة بقطع حلقيهما مستخدماً أداة حادة، قبل أن يتوجه بنفسه إلى مركز شرطة واشيم ويعترف بتفاصيل ما فعله دون مقاومة.
وانتقلت فرق الشرطة إلى موقع الجريمة فور تلقي الاعتراف، حيث تم العثور على جثتي الطفلتين داخل الغابة، فيما يجري فحص الطب الشرعي والتشريح لتحديد الأسباب الدقيقة للوفاة، والتأكد مما إذا كانت هناك محاولات لإحراق الجثتين بعد الجريمة.
ووصفت السلطات الحادثة بأنها من أكثر الجرائم وحشية في الولاية خلال السنوات الأخيرة، مؤكدة أن التحقيقات مستمرة لمعرفة الدوافع النفسية التي دفعت الأب إلى ارتكاب فعلته.

According to police reports cited by NDTV, the perpetrator is named Rahul Shavan, and he resides in the Washim area, where a violent dispute erupted with his wife during the trip, prompting her to leave the car and return to her parents' home in anger.
After she left, Shavan took the two girls to a nearby forested area, where he committed his heinous crime by cutting their throats with a sharp object, before heading to the Washim police station and confessing to the details of what he had done without resistance.
Police teams rushed to the crime scene immediately after receiving the confession, where the bodies of the two girls were found in the forest, while forensic examination and autopsy are being conducted to determine the exact causes of death and to verify whether there were attempts to burn the bodies after the crime.
The authorities described the incident as one of the most brutal crimes in the state in recent years, confirming that investigations are ongoing to understand the psychological motives that drove the father to commit his act.
