لقي ثمانية أشخاص على الأقل مصرعهم، وأصيب 28 آخرون، 15 منهم في حالة خطيرة، في حادث سير بولاية ماهاراشترا غرب الهند.
وقالت مصادر محلية إن الحادث وقع عندما انزلقت سيارة خدمات عامة تقل عدة ركاب، وسقطت في وادٍ بعمق نحو 60 متراً.
وأضاف المصدر ذاته نقلاً عن مسؤول أن السائق فقد السيطرة على السيارة أثناء انعطاف حاد، وفتحت السلطات المحلية تحقيقاً لتحديد سبب الحادث.
ولا تزال حوادث السير تثير انشغال الحكومة، وحسب آخر الإحصاءات الرسمية، تم تسجيل أكثر من 480 ألف حادث سير في الهند سنة 2023، ما أسفر عن وفاة أكثر من 172 ألف شخص، ومقارنة بسنة 2022، يمثل هذا الرقم زيادة بنسبة 4.2% في عدد الحوادث، وزيادة بنسبة 2.6% في عدد الوفيات.
At least eight people have died, and 28 others have been injured, 15 of them seriously, in a traffic accident in Maharashtra, western India.
Local sources reported that the accident occurred when a public service vehicle carrying several passengers skidded off the road and fell into a ravine about 60 meters deep.
The same source quoted an official stating that the driver lost control of the vehicle during a sharp turn, and local authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Traffic accidents continue to concern the government, and according to the latest official statistics, more than 480,000 traffic accidents were recorded in India in 2023, resulting in the deaths of over 172,000 people. Compared to 2022, this figure represents a 4.2% increase in the number of accidents and a 2.6% increase in the number of fatalities.
