كشف لاعب نادي ليفربول الإنجليزي كورتيس جونز كواليس اعتذار زميله المصري محمد صلاح، عقب الجدل الذي أُثير بسبب تصريحاته الأخيرة.
وكان النجم المصري قد أشعل جدلاً واسعاً بتصريحات مثيرة، بعد جلوسه على مقاعد البدلاء للمباراة الثالثة توالياً أمام ليدز يونايتد في «بريميرليغ»، مؤكداً أن هناك من لا يرغب في استمراره داخل النادي، ومشيراً إلى انقطاع علاقته بالمدرب آرني سلوت.
عقوبة أوروبية
وعاقب ليفربول لاعبه بالاستبعاد من لقاء الفريق ضد إنتر ميلان في دوري أبطال أوروبا، قبل أن يعود ويشارك بديلاً في الفوز على برايتون بهدفين دون رد، السبت الماضي، في مباراته الأخيرة قبل الانضمام إلى منتخب مصر لخوض بطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2025.
صلاح يعتذر
وقال جونز في تصريحات لشبكة «سكاي سبورتس»: «صلاح رجل مستقل، وله الحق في قول ما يشاء، لكنه اعتذر لنا، وقال: «إذا كنت قد أثرت على أي شخص أو جعلتكم تشعرون بشعور سلبي، فأنا أعتذر». هذه هي شخصيته».
وأضاف: «أتفهم أن هناك طرقاً مختلفة للتعبير عما يريده، لكن إذا كان اللاعب مرتاحاً للجلوس على مقاعد البدلاء ولا يرغب في اللعب ومساعدة الفريق، فهذه ستكون مشكلة أكبر».

وختم جونز حديثه قائلاً: «عندما شعرنا بأي غضب، بما في ذلك أنا، كان ذلك نابعاً من نيات حسنة، ربما لم يُعبّر صلاح عن مشاعره بالشكل الأمثل في ذلك التوقيت، لكنه لم يكن يقصد أبداً التأثير على الفريق أو الجهاز الفني أو أي شخص آخر، لقد تجاوزنا الأمر الآن، ونحن منسجمون كفريق، ونلعب بشكل جيد، وبدأنا في تحقيق الانتصارات».

The Egyptian star ignited widespread debate with provocative remarks after sitting on the bench for the third consecutive match against Leeds United in the Premier League, confirming that there are those who do not wish for him to continue at the club, and referring to a breakdown in his relationship with coach Arne Slot.
European Punishment
Liverpool punished their player by excluding him from the team's match against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League, before he returned to participate as a substitute in the victory over Brighton with a score of two goals to none last Saturday, in his last match before joining the Egyptian national team for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Salah Apologizes
Jones stated in comments to Sky Sports: "Salah is an independent man, and he has the right to say what he wants, but he apologized to us, saying: 'If I have affected anyone or made you feel negatively, I apologize.' That is his character."
He added: "I understand that there are different ways to express what he wants, but if a player is comfortable sitting on the bench and does not want to play and help the team, that would be a bigger problem."

Jones concluded his remarks by saying: "When we felt any anger, including myself, it came from good intentions. Perhaps Salah did not express his feelings in the best way at that moment, but he never intended to affect the team or the coaching staff or anyone else. We have moved past it now, and we are harmonious as a team, playing well, and starting to achieve victories."
