«والدتك فعلت ذلك».. بهذه الكلمات أجابت السكرتيرة الصحفية للبيت الأبيض كارولين ليفيت مراسل صحيفة هافينغتون بوست الأمريكية، حين تساءل عن سبب اختيار العاصمة المجرية بودابست للقاء مرتقب بين الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ونظيره الروسي فلاديمير بوتين خلال الأيام القادمة.
فيما علق مراسل الصحيفة الأمريكية موجهاً حديثه لـكارولين ليفيت عما إذا كانت تعتقد أن ردها كان مضحكاً، فأجابت: «من المضحك بالنسبة لي أنكم تعتبرون أنفسكم مجرّد صحيفة، أنت يساري متطرف لا يأخذك أحد على محمل الجد، حتى زملاؤك في الإعلام، فهم ببساطة لا يخبرونك بذلك وجهاً لوجه، كفّ عن إرسال أسئلتك المخادعة والمتحيزة والسخيفة إليّ عبر الرسائل النصية».
