The African Kobala tribe was forced to leave their camp in a forest near Jedburgh in Scotland after an immediate eviction order was issued by the court.

Arrests and Escape

The police arrested the tribe leader Atheini, known as "Kofi Ovie," his wife Nandi, and the American maid Kaura Taylor, after the tribe live-streamed the eviction process on TikTok.

Legal Dispute

The original landowner, David Palmer, complained about the disturbance caused by the camp, and the sheriff issued a legal order to evacuate the camp, which later moved to a neighboring land owned by the Scottish Borders Council.

Historical Claims

Tribe members asserted that they are reclaiming their ancestral lands that they lost 400 years ago, and Ovie claims that they follow the laws of the Creator of the land and do not recognize the authorities' ownership of the land.

Challenges and Concerns

The camp had been subjected to attacks from some local residents, with reports of stones being thrown at it, while the tribe demands an end to what they consider persecution and suppression of their legitimate claims.
