Emergency teams in Fujian Province, southeastern China, managed to rescue a 48-year-old woman who experienced a terrifying ordeal after falling into an old well during a hike in the forest.

Fell into a Narrow Well

The woman, named Qin, fell into a narrow well from the top that was wide at the bottom, preventing her from climbing the walls and escaping. She remained trapped for over 54 hours in the darkness, amidst mosquito bites and threats from water snakes.

Rescue by Drone

Her family began searching as soon as they were informed of her disappearance, and the search continued until her location was pinpointed on September 15 using a drone equipped with a thermal camera, after hearing her faint cries for help.

Strong Will to Survive

The woman recounted that she secured her body with a protruding rock and uprooted other stones to create points of support, which allowed her to maintain the same position despite exhaustion and a bite from a non-venomous water snake.

Stable Health Condition

After her rescue, Qin was taken to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with two broken ribs and a partial lung collapse, in addition to severe injuries to her hands. Doctors confirmed that her condition is stable and she will recover soon.

Social media in China circulated her story, with many praising her strong will in facing difficult circumstances and surviving.
