بدأت اليوم (الإثنين) محاكمة رجل متهم بقتل تلميذة شمالي فرنسا قبل 27 عاماً، في واحدة من أقدم القضايا الباردة التي أعيد فتحها بعد عقود من الغموض.
وتعود الحادثة إلى عام 1994، حين قُتلت ناديج دينوا (17 عاماً) على جانب الطريق المؤدي إلى مدرستها الثانوية في بلدة شاتو تييري. وتم العثور على جسدها مطعوناً، بجانب حقيبتها المدرسية، وحبل نايلون وزهرة قُطفت حديثاً، دون أي علامات اعتداء جنسي.

وعلى مدار السنوات التالية، لم تتمكن السلطات من كشف الجاني، رغم التحقيق في العديد من الخيوط، بما في ذلك صديق الضحية والمشتبه به القاتل المتسلسل ميشيل فورنيريه، إلا أن الأدلة لم تثبت أي صلة مباشرة بالجريمة.

تغيرت مسارات القضية بشكل جذري عام 2021، حين أظهرت فحوصات الحمض النووي على ملابس الضحية تطابقاً مع باسكال لافولي (58 عاماً) ما أدى إلى توقيفه بعد 27 عاماً على الحادثة.
عقوبة محتملة
يواجه لافولي في حال إدانته عقوبة سجن تصل إلى 30 عاماً أمام المحكمة الجنائية في مدينة لاون، على أن يُصدر الحكم المتوقع يوم الأربعاء.

The trial of a man accused of murdering a schoolgirl in northern France 27 years ago began today (Monday), in one of the oldest cold cases reopened after decades of mystery.
The incident dates back to 1994, when Nadège Dinou (17 years old) was killed on the roadside leading to her high school in the town of Château-Thierry. Her body was found stabbed, next to her school bag, a nylon rope, and a freshly picked flower, with no signs of sexual assault.
Investigations with no results
Over the following years, authorities were unable to identify the perpetrator, despite investigating numerous leads, including the victim's boyfriend and the suspected serial killer Michel Fourniret, but the evidence did not establish any direct link to the crime.
Discovering the truth
The course of the case changed dramatically in 2021, when DNA tests on the victim's clothing matched Pascal Lavoile (58 years old), leading to his arrest 27 years after the incident.
Possible sentence
If convicted, Lavoile faces a prison sentence of up to 30 years in the criminal court in Laon, with the expected verdict to be issued on Wednesday.
Reaction
The lawyer for the victim's mother, Arnaud Miel, said: "It is a miracle that we have come this far," emphasizing that the thorough investigations and genetic analysis have restored hope for the victim's family after decades of waiting.
