The British teenager Owen Norgrove (17 years old) did not expect that a routine visit to a barbershop would save his life. During a haircut session at the Turkish barber shop of Furat Dawoodoglu, the latter noticed a strange lump on Owen's neck and immediately advised him to see a doctor.

Shocking Diagnosis

After medical examinations, it turned out that Owen was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a rare type that affects the immune system. The teenager began intensive chemotherapy treatment last January, which lasted for five months at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust. In June, doctors announced that his condition was stable and he had entered the safe phase.

Unforgettable Gratitude

Owen expressed his gratitude to the barber who noticed the life-saving mark, saying: "I went to the barber as I always do, but he drew my attention to the tumor, and I am very grateful because he saved my life." Furat confirmed that seeing Owen healthy is "the most important thing."

Awareness of Symptoms

The British National Health Service clarified that the symptoms of the disease include:

• Swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck, armpit, or groin
• Night sweats and unexplained weight loss
• Persistent fever
• Chronic cough or shortness of breath
• Persistent skin itching

Family Support

Despite missing his final school year, Owen confirms that he feels he is in "the best condition" and is undergoing regular follow-ups. His family also launched a fundraising campaign that raised £10,000 for the charity supporting young cancer patients, as a gesture of gratitude to those who helped them during the journey.
