شهدت القنصلية الروسية في ضاحية وولاهرا بمدينة سيدني الأسترالية، صباح اليوم الإثنين، حادثة اقتحام دراماتيكية عندما قاد رجل يبلغ من العمر 39 عامًا سيارته من نوع تويوتا كلوجر ليصطدم ببوابات المبنى، مما أدى إلى إصابة شرطي أسترالي يبلغ من العمر 24 عامًا بجروح طفيفة في يده.
وفقًا لشرطة نيو ساوث ويلز، تلقت السلطات بلاغًا حوالى الساعة 8:00 صباحًا عن سيارة مشبوهة متوقفة في ممر شارع فولرتون، حيث تقع القنصلية الروسية، وعندما حاول أفراد الأمن التحدث إلى السائق، قام بقيادة سيارته مباشرة نحو بوابات القنصلية، مما تسبب في أضرار مادية وإصابة شرطيين من الذين كانوا يحاولون السيطرة على الموقف.
وأظهرت لقطات تلفزيونية بثتها قناة «ناين» سيارة بيضاء مهشمة النافذة متوقفة بجوار سارية العلم الروسي في حديقة القنصلية، قبل أن تُنقل السيارة لاحقًا بواسطة شاحنة مسطحة، وتم القبض على الجاني على الفور داخل مجمع القنصلية، فيما تُواصل السلطات الأسترالية التحقيق للكشف عن دوافع الحادثة.
وأفاد أحد الجيران الذين شهدوا الحادثة لوسائل الإعلام بأنه شاهد الشرطة وهي تشهر أسلحتها تجاه السائق، مطالبة إياه بالخروج من السيارة قبل أن يتم توقيفه دون مقاومة تُذكر.
وأكدت الشرطة أن الإصابات تلقت علاجًا ميدانيًا من فرق الإسعاف، ولم تُسجل إصابات أخرى، في حين أن القنصلية الروسية، التي أغلقت لفترة وجيزة عقب الحادثة، استأنفت عملها لاحقًا، لكن ممثليها رفضوا التعليق على الحادثة.

The Russian consulate in the suburb of Woolahra in Sydney, Australia, witnessed a dramatic intrusion this morning, Monday, when a 39-year-old man drove his Toyota Kluger into the building's gates, resulting in minor injuries to a 24-year-old Australian police officer's hand.
According to New South Wales police, authorities received a report around 8:00 AM about a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of Fullerton Street, where the Russian consulate is located. When security personnel attempted to speak to the driver, he drove his car directly towards the consulate gates, causing property damage and injuring police officers who were trying to control the situation.
Television footage broadcast by Channel Nine showed a white car with a smashed window parked next to the Russian flagpole in the consulate's garden, before the car was later towed away by a flatbed truck. The perpetrator was immediately arrested inside the consulate complex, while Australian authorities continue to investigate to uncover the motives behind the incident.
A neighbor who witnessed the incident reported to the media that he saw the police draw their weapons towards the driver, demanding that he exit the vehicle before he was apprehended with little resistance.
The police confirmed that the injuries received field treatment from ambulance teams, and no other injuries were reported. Meanwhile, the Russian consulate, which was briefly closed following the incident, resumed operations later, but its representatives declined to comment on the incident.
