في خطوة عاجلة، أُغلِقت حديقة حيوانات دلهي بعد أن أظهرت فحوصات طائري لقلق نفقا إصابتهما بالسلالة الشديدة العدوى H5N1 من فيروس إنفلونزا الطيور. ووفقاً لتقرير صحيفة «تايمز أوف إنديا»، تعمل السلطات الآن على تنفيذ تدابير أمن بيولوجي مشددة لمراقبة الوضع ومنع انتقال الفيروس إلى الحيوانات الأخرى والبشر.
وتجري السلطات حالياً فحوصاً إضافية على طائر آخر نافق في الأسر في إطار الإجراءات الوقائية. وستظل الحديقة مغلقة حتى إشعار آخر.
انتشار هذا النوع من الفيروس يُثير القلق داخل الحكومة الهندية وصناعة الدواجن، إذ قد يؤدي إلى نفوق الطيور وفرض قيود تجارية، إضافة إلى خطر انتقال العدوى إلى البشر.
In a swift move, the Delhi Zoo was closed after tests on two infected birds showed they had contracted the highly contagious H5N1 strain of the avian influenza virus. According to a report by the "Times of India," authorities are now implementing strict biosecurity measures to monitor the situation and prevent the virus from spreading to other animals and humans.
Authorities are currently conducting additional tests on another deceased bird in captivity as part of the precautionary measures. The zoo will remain closed until further notice.
The spread of this type of virus raises concerns within the Indian government and the poultry industry, as it could lead to bird deaths and trade restrictions, in addition to the risk of transmission to humans.
