شهدت هولندا موجة من الغضب بعد مقتل فتاة تبلغ 17 عاماً طعناً أثناء اتصالها بالشرطة للإبلاغ عن ملاحقتها خلال ركوبها الدراجة في طريق عودتها إلى المنزل.
تم العثور على جثة الشابة، ليزا في خندق على جانب الطريق في الساعات الأولى من صباح الأربعاء، بعد عودتها من سهرة مع أصدقائها، إذ تعرّضت لهجوم من قبل رجل كان يملك دراجة أيضاً أثناء مكالمتها للطوارئ.
وقالت صحيفة ديلي ميل البريطانية إن المشتبه به الرئيسي في القضية شاب يبلغ من العمر 22 عاماً (طالب لجوء)، كان قد اعتُقل قبل أربعة أيام بتهمة اغتصاب امرأة في أمستردام بتاريخ 15 أغسطس، وورد أنه اعتدى على امرأة أخرى قبل خمسة أيام من ذلك.
وأدت هذه الحادثة العنيفة إلى احتجاجات واسعة وحملة هولندية بعنوان «استعادة الليل»، بعد أن كتبت ممثلة وكاتبة هولندية قصيدة عن اللحظات الأخيرة لليزا وهي عائدة إلى منزلها على الدراجة، وانتشرت بشكل واسع على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
كتبت نينكه غرافيمايد في منشور على إنستغرام: «الحقيبة الحمراء. لا أستطيع التوقف عن التفكير في تلك الحقيبة الحمراء. كيف كانت تتدلى من المقود بينما كانت تسير في الليل. ليلة كانت لها أيضاً. أطالب بالليل، أطالب بالشوارع، أطالب برفع الخوف». وأرفقت المنشور بالوسم #rechtopdenacht أي «الحق في الليل».
The Netherlands has witnessed a wave of anger following the stabbing death of a 17-year-old girl while she was on the phone with the police reporting that she was being followed while riding her bike on her way home.
The body of the young woman, Lisa, was found in a ditch by the roadside in the early hours of Wednesday morning, after returning from a night out with friends, having been attacked by a man who also had a bike during her emergency call.
The British newspaper Daily Mail reported that the main suspect in the case is a 22-year-old man (an asylum seeker), who had been arrested four days earlier on charges of raping a woman in Amsterdam on August 15, and it was reported that he had assaulted another woman five days prior to that.
This violent incident has led to widespread protests and a Dutch campaign titled "Reclaim the Night," after a Dutch actress and writer penned a poem about Lisa's last moments as she rode her bike home, which went viral on social media.
Nienke Grafimade wrote in an Instagram post: "The red bag. I can't stop thinking about that red bag. How it hung from the handlebars as she rode through the night. A night that was hers too. I demand the night, I demand the streets, I demand the end of fear." She accompanied the post with the hashtag #rechtopdenacht, meaning "the right to the night."
