في لحظة مروعة التُقطت بالكاميرا، تحطمت طائرة خفيفة من طراز بايبر شيروكي في ملعب جولف بضاحية مونا فالي في سيدني الأسترالية، أمام أنظار المتفرجين المذهولين، وأظهرت اللقطات الطائرة وهي تهبط اضطراريًا بسرعة كبيرة، بينما كان لاعبو الجولف يستمتعون بجولتهم، قبل أن تسقط على الأرض دون أن تصيب أي شخص، بحسب صحيفة «ذا صن» البريطانية.
الطائرة كانت تقل رجلين في الخمسينيات من العمر، أحدهما مدرب طيران والآخر طالب، ونجيا من الحادث بأعجوبة رغم قوة الاصطدام، وقد هرع شهود العيان لتقديم المساعدة فورًا، وتم إسعاف المصابين في الموقع قبل نقلهم إلى مستشفى رويال نورث شور، حيث وُصفت حالتهما بالمستقرة.
وفي حادث منفصل وقع الشهر الماضي، تحطمت طائرة صغيرة على طريق سريع مزدحم في مقاطعة بريشيا شمال إيطاليا، ما أسفر عن مقتل شخصين كانا على متنها، وأظهرت لقطات فيديو الطائرة وهي تهبط بشكل شبه عمودي قبل أن ترتطم بالأرض وتنفجر، ما تسبب في اشتعال النيران وتوقف حركة المرور في الاتجاهين. وقد أدى الحادث إلى تدمير الطائرة بالكامل دون وجود ناجين.

In a separate incident that occurred last month, a small plane crashed on a busy highway in Brescia County, northern Italy, resulting in the deaths of two people on board. Video footage showed the aircraft descending almost vertically before crashing to the ground and exploding, causing a fire and halting traffic in both directions. The incident completely destroyed the plane with no survivors.
