أعلنت شركة باربي إطلاق دمية جديدة للاعبة التنس الأمريكية فينوس وليامز ضمن مجموعة «النساء الملهمات»، تكريمًا لمسيرتها الرياضية ونشاطها في مجال الدفاع عن المساواة في الأجور.
وستظهر الدمية، التي تصدر بعد يومين، مرتدية زيها الأبيض الذي ارتدته أثناء فوزها ببطولة ويمبلدون عام 2007، مع عقد يتوسطه حجر كريم أخضر، وسوار معصم، ومضرب وكرة تنس، لتجسد لحظة فوزها بخامس لقب في البطولات الأربع الكبرى من أصل سبعة ألقاب كبرى حققتها.
وسيتم طرح الدمية بسعر تجزئة مقترح يبلغ 38 دولارًا. وكانت شركة باربي قد طرحت في مايو 2024 دمية لوليامز ضمن مجموعة كرمت تسع رياضيات رائدات، ضمن احتفالات الشركة بالذكرى الـ65 لتأسيسها.
Barbie announced the launch of a new doll for American tennis player Venus Williams as part of the "Inspiring Women" collection, honoring her athletic career and her activism for wage equality.
The doll, which will be released in two days, will be dressed in her white outfit that she wore during her victory at the Wimbledon Championship in 2007, featuring a necklace with a green gemstone, a wrist bracelet, a tennis racket, and a tennis ball, capturing the moment of her fifth Grand Slam title out of seven major titles she has achieved.
The doll will be available at a suggested retail price of $38. Barbie had previously released a doll of Williams in May 2024 as part of a collection honoring nine pioneering female athletes, celebrating the company's 65th anniversary.
