ضرب زلزال بقوة 5.6 درجة على مقياس ريختر اليوم، جزر فيجي الواقعة جنوب المحيط الهادئ.
وأفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية، بأن الزلزال وقع جنوب جزر فيجي، وعلى عمق 535.4 كيلومتر.
ولم ترد إلى الآن تقارير عن وقوع أضرار مادية أو بشرية جراء الزلزال.
يذكر أن جزر فيجي تقع في منطقة تسمى بـ«حزام النار» بالمحيط الهادئ، وتتعرض من وقت لآخر للعديد من الهزات والزلازل الارتدادية التي تكون قوية في بعض الأحيان.
A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific today.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred south of the Fiji Islands, at a depth of 535.4 kilometers.
No reports of material or human damage have been received so far as a result of the earthquake.
It is worth mentioning that the Fiji Islands are located in an area known as the "Ring of Fire" in the Pacific, and they are subjected from time to time to numerous tremors and aftershocks that can be strong at times.
