أعلن علماء آثارٍ من البيرو، اكتشاف لوحة جدارية تعود إلى ما قبل الحقبة الإسبانية، ويعود تاريخها إلى أكثر من 3,000 عام في شمال البلاد.
وعُثر على الجدارية داخل دار عبادة في «هواكا يولاندا» الأثري، على مسافة نحو 580 كيلومتراً شمال العاصمة البيروفية ليما.
وقالت مديرة الحفريات في الموقع والباحثة بالجامعة البابوية الكاثوليكية في البيرو، أنّا سيسيليا موريسيو: «إنّ هذه الجدارية التي تعود إلى 3,000 عام على الأقل، تُظهر خصائص فريدة تماماً في علم الآثار البيروفي».
وتُصوّر الجدارية التي يزيد طولها على خمسة أمتار وارتفاعها على مترين، أسماكاً ونجوماً وشباك صيدٍ ونباتات.
وأضافت موريسيو: «لم نعثر من قبل على أيقونات أو رسوم من هذا النوع، وهذا الاكتشاف يظهر الثراء التاريخي والثقافي للشعب البيروفي».
Archaeologists from Peru announced the discovery of a mural dating back to pre-Hispanic times, over 3,000 years old, in the north of the country.
The mural was found inside a place of worship at the archaeological site of "Huaca Yolanda," located about 580 kilometers north of the Peruvian capital, Lima.
Anna Cecilia Mauricio, the excavation director at the site and a researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, stated: "This mural, which dates back at least 3,000 years, shows completely unique characteristics in Peruvian archaeology."
The mural, which is over five meters long and more than two meters high, depicts fish, stars, fishing nets, and plants.
Mauricio added: "We have never found icons or drawings of this kind before, and this discovery highlights the historical and cultural richness of the Peruvian people."
