تمكنت الأجهزة الأمنية في مصر من ضبط تشكيل عصابي مكون من 23 شخصاً، تخصص في النصب والاحتيال على المواطنين عبر منصة إلكترونية تحمل اسم «VSA»، وذلك في إطار جهود وزارة الداخلية المصرية لمكافحة الجرائم الإلكترونية، حيث تلقت الوزارة بلاغات من 58 مواطناً تضرروا من أنشطة المنصة، التي استولت على نحو 2.5 مليون جنيه من مدخراتهم بدعوى استثمارها نظير أرباح مالية وهمية.
وكشفت التحريات أن التشكيل العصابي كان يدير منصة «VSA» عبر الإنترنت، ويستهدف المواطنين من خلال الترويج لها عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، مدعياً أنها توفر أرباحاً مالية تصاعدية مقابل مشاهدة إعلانات لشركات عالمية، وكان المتهمون يطالبون الضحايا بالتسجيل في المنصة وسداد رسوم عضوية، يتم تحصيلها عبر محافظ إلكترونية.
وأوضحت التحريات أنه ولإضفاء المصداقية على نشاطهم الإجرامي، استخدم المتهمون أرقاماً دولية للتواصل مع الضحايا عبر تطبيق واتساب، إضافة إلى تقديم عمولات مالية لمن يروج للمنصة، وأنه بلغت القيمة الإجمالية للمضبوطات المالية والعينية أكثر من 32 مليون جنيه، في عملية أمنية ناجحة تكشف مخاطر المنصات الإلكترونية المجهولة.
وعقب تقنين الإجراءات، نفذت الأجهزة الأمنية حملة استهدفت عناصر التشكيل، وأسفرت عن ضبط 23 متهماً وبحوزتهم مبالغ مالية، ومحافظ إلكترونية، وسيارات، وهواتف محمولة، وحواسب آلية، وكميات كبيرة من شرائح الهواتف المحمولة المفعلة بمحافظ إلكترونية، وتم اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة، مع استمرار التحقيقات لكشف ملابسات إضافية وتحديد أي ضحايا آخرين.
وأصدرت وزارة الداخلية المصرية بياناً أكدت فيه التزامها بحماية المواطنين من الجرائم الإلكترونية، محذرة من التعامل مع تطبيقات أو منصات مجهولة المصدر تروج لأرباح سريعة، وأشارت إلى أن العملية الأمنية أثبتت فعالية الأجهزة الأمنية في التصدي لمثل هذه الجرائم، مع التأكيد على استمرار الجهود لضبط أي تشكيلات إجرامية مشابهة.
The security forces in Egypt managed to arrest a criminal gang consisting of 23 individuals, specialized in defrauding citizens through an online platform named "VSA." This was part of the Egyptian Ministry of Interior's efforts to combat cybercrime, as the ministry received complaints from 58 citizens who were harmed by the platform's activities, which had seized approximately 2.5 million Egyptian pounds from their savings under the pretext of investing it for fictitious financial profits.
Investigations revealed that the criminal gang was operating the "VSA" platform online, targeting citizens by promoting it through social media, claiming that it offers escalating financial profits in exchange for viewing advertisements from global companies. The accused demanded that victims register on the platform and pay membership fees, which were collected through electronic wallets.
The investigations clarified that to lend credibility to their criminal activity, the accused used international numbers to communicate with victims via WhatsApp, in addition to offering financial commissions to those who promoted the platform. The total value of the seized financial and material items exceeded 32 million Egyptian pounds, in a successful security operation that highlights the dangers of unknown electronic platforms.
After legal procedures were formalized, the security forces carried out a campaign targeting the gang members, resulting in the arrest of 23 suspects in possession of cash, electronic wallets, cars, mobile phones, computers, and large quantities of activated mobile phone SIM cards linked to electronic wallets. Necessary legal actions were taken, with investigations continuing to uncover additional circumstances and identify any other victims.
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior issued a statement confirming its commitment to protecting citizens from cybercrime, warning against dealing with unknown source applications or platforms that promote quick profits. It noted that the security operation demonstrated the effectiveness of the security forces in combating such crimes, reiterating ongoing efforts to apprehend any similar criminal formations.
