تحولت زيارة عائلية روتينية داخل سجن «باثورست» في نيو ساوث ويلز بأستراليا إلى معركة عنيفة، شارك فيها السجناء والزوار على حد سواء!
ووقعت الحادثة الموثقة بكاميرات المراقبة عندما اقترب سجين يبلغ من العمر 29 عاماً من آخر يكبره بـ7 أعوام كان يجلس مع عائلته، ليبدأ الاثنان تبادل اللكمات.
كما حاول سجين ثالث فض الشجار قبل أن يسحبه أحد الحراس بعيداً، لكن الأمور خرجت عن السيطرة بسرعة مذهلة إذ انضم ثلاثة زوار، امرأتان ورجل إلى العراك واشتد القتال وسط ذهول الحاضرين.
خمسة ضباط حاولوا السيطرة على الموقف، لكن أحدهم تعرّض للسحل وكُسرت ذراعه أثناء محاولته فض الشجار ونُقل إلى المستشفى، أما سجين ثالث فحاول التدخل لإيقاف العنف لكن الحراس سحبوه بعيداً.
رئيسة جمعية الخدمة العامة نيكول جيس قالت: «لدينا أنظمة تنبيهات موجودة، لكنك لا تعرف ماذا يفعل الزوار. ومن ثم يأتون ويعرفون شخصاً ما، وإذا لم تكن لدينا أنظمة تنبيهات يحدث شيء من هذا القبيل. هذه هي المخاطرة التي نتعرض لها. قد يتعرض أحد الموظفين للاعتداء في هذه اللحظة ومن حسن الحظ أن النساء والأطفال لم يُصابوا بأذى».
وُجهت لاحقاً تهم بالاعتداء والمشاجرة إلى خمسة متورطين بينهم النزيلان وثلاثة زوار، ومثلوا جميعاً للمحاكمة.
A routine family visit inside the "Bathurst" prison in New South Wales, Australia, turned into a violent brawl, involving both inmates and visitors!
The incident, captured by surveillance cameras, occurred when a 29-year-old inmate approached another inmate who was 7 years older and sitting with his family, leading to a mutual exchange of punches.
A third inmate attempted to break up the fight before being pulled away by a guard, but the situation spiraled out of control at an astonishing pace as three visitors, two women and a man, joined the fray, intensifying the fight amid the shock of onlookers.
Five officers tried to regain control of the situation, but one was dragged and had his arm broken while attempting to separate the fighters and was taken to the hospital. Another inmate tried to intervene to stop the violence but was pulled away by the guards.
Nicole Gies, the head of the Public Service Association, said: "We have alert systems in place, but you never know what the visitors are doing. Then they come in and know someone, and if we don't have alert systems, something like this happens. This is the risk we face. An employee could be assaulted at any moment, and fortunately, the women and children were not harmed."
Charges of assault and brawling were later filed against five individuals involved, including the two inmates and three visitors, all of whom appeared in court.
