في واقعة غريبة ومثيرة للجدل، كشفت السلطات العراقية عن عثورها على كميات ضخمة من الأموال والمجوهرات داخل سيارة تحطمت في حادث سير، دون أن تتضح حتى اللحظة هوية الضحية أو مصدر تلك الثروات.
ووفقاً لبيان صادر عن شرطة محافظة الديوانية، فقد وقع الحادث على أحد الطرق السريعة، يوم الأربعاء، وأسفر عن مصرع سائق سيارة فارهة بعد انقلاب مركبته في ظروف لم تُحدد بعد، غير أن المفاجأة الحقيقية ظهرت بعد وصول فرق الإنقاذ إلى موقع الحادث.
أثناء تفتيش السيارة، عثر رجال الشرطة على مبالغ مالية كبيرة تتجاوز 5 آلاف دولار نقداً، إضافة إلى نحو 7 ملايين دينار عراقي، أي ما يعادل تقريباً 5 آلاف دولار أخرى.
كما تم ضبط كمية كبيرة من المشغولات الذهبية، لم يُكشف عن وزنها أو قيمتها، إلى جانب 3 هواتف نقالة وكاميرا تصوير احترافية.
وما زاد من غموض الواقعة، أن السلطات لم تتمكن حتى الآن من تحديد هوية المتوفى، كما لم ترد بلاغات رسمية عن سرقات أو أموال مفقودة تطابق هذه المضبوطات، ما يفتح باب التكهنات حول وجود شبهة جنائية أو تورط في نشاط غير مشروع.
وأوضحت الشرطة أن التحقيقات جارية بالتنسيق مع الجهات المعنية، لكشف ملابسات الحادث، وهوية الضحية، ومصدر هذه الأموال والمقتنيات الثمينة، التي تحوّلت إلى ما يشبه «الكنز الغامض».
In a strange and controversial incident, Iraqi authorities revealed that they found large amounts of money and jewelry inside a car that crashed in a traffic accident, with the identity of the victim or the source of these riches still unclear.
According to a statement issued by the police in Al-Diwaniyah province, the accident occurred on one of the highways on Wednesday, resulting in the death of the driver of a luxury car after his vehicle overturned under circumstances that have not yet been determined. However, the real surprise emerged after rescue teams arrived at the scene of the accident.
While searching the car, police officers found large sums of money exceeding $5,000 in cash, in addition to about 7 million Iraqi dinars, which is approximately equivalent to another $5,000.
A large quantity of gold jewelry was also seized, the weight or value of which has not been disclosed, along with 3 mobile phones and a professional camera.
What added to the mystery of the incident is that authorities have not yet been able to identify the deceased, nor have there been any official reports of thefts or missing money that match these seized items, raising speculation about the possibility of criminal suspicion or involvement in illicit activities.
The police clarified that investigations are ongoing in coordination with the relevant authorities to uncover the circumstances of the accident, the identity of the victim, and the source of this money and valuable possessions, which have turned into what resembles a "mysterious treasure."
