وفوجئ الإمام شينول يلماز بورقة ناوله إياها بعض الشبان، كتبوا فيها رغبتهم في تقليل مدة الصلاة، مبررين استعجالهم برغبتهم في متابعة المباراة التي تنطلق في الثامنة مساءً، بالتزامن مع موعد صلاة التراويح.
هذا الطلب لم يُقابل بالرفض. بل قرر الإمام إلغاء الدعاء والركعات، ما أتاح للمصلين الانصراف مبكرًا دون الإخلال بأداء الشعيرة.
وفي حديثه لوكالة وكالة إخلاص، أوضح الإمام أنه لم يكن يعلم بوجود المباراة، مشيرًا إلى أن غالبية رواد المسجد من فئة الشباب، وأنه وجد طلبهم «بريئًا ولا يمس جوهر الصلاة».
لكن المباراة نفسها لم تخلُ من الدراما. فقد تقدم فناربخشة بهدف قاتل في الوقت الإضافي، وسط احتفالات صاخبة من جماهيره، قبل أن يخطف قاسم باشا هدف التعادل في اللحظات الأخيرة، محولًا الفرحة إلى صدمة.

This request was not met with refusal. Instead, the imam decided to cancel the supplication and the rak'ahs, allowing the worshippers to leave early without compromising the performance of the ritual.
In his statement to the İhlas News Agency, the imam explained that he was unaware of the match, noting that the majority of the mosque's attendees were young people, and he found their request "innocent and not affecting the essence of the prayer."
However, the match itself was not without drama. Fenerbahçe took the lead with a last-minute goal in extra time, amid loud celebrations from their fans, before Kasımpaşa snatched an equalizer in the final moments, turning joy into shock.
