اضطرت طائرة تابعة لشركة «إيزي جيت» البريطانية، متجهة من مطار جاتويك في لندن إلى مراكش في المغرب، إلى تحويل مسارها والهبوط اضطرارياً في مطار فارو بالبرتغال، بعد أن تسبب 6 رجال يحتفلون بـ«توديع العزوبية» في اضطرابات على متن الطائرة.
وكشف تقرير نشرته صحيفة «ميترو» البريطانية، نقلاً عن شهود عيان، أنه «أقدم أفراد المجموعة على تدخين السجائر الإلكترونية، وشرب الكحول بكثافة، وتوجيه إساءات لفظية إلى طاقم الطائرة، ما أثار غضب الركاب».
وأفاد آرون ديفيس، أحد الركاب من نيوبورت في جنوب ويلز، أن اثنين من أفراد المجموعة كانا يستخدمان السجائر الإلكترونية بشكل علني ويتصرفان بطريقة «مثيرة للاشمئزاز»، مضيفاً أن طاقم الطائرة حذر المجموعة 6 مرات قبل اتخاذ قرار بتحويل مسار الرحلة، وتابع: «لقد كان تصرفهم غير مقبول، لكن المضيف كان رائعاً في التعامل مع الموقف، ويستحق التقدير على احترافيته».
بعد إعلان قائد الطائرة عن الهبوط الاضطراري في فارو، استقبلت الطائرة 8 من ضباط الشرطة البرتغالية، الذين رافقوا المجموعة خارج الطائرة وسط هتافات من الركاب الآخرين، حيث تسببت الحادثة في تأخير الرحلة، ما أثر على الركاب الذين كانوا يخططون لقضاء عطلة في مراكش.
وأصدرت «إيزي جيت» بياناً جاء فيه: «رحلة EZY من جاتويك إلى مراكش اضطرت إلى تحويل مسارها إلى فارو واستقبلتها الشرطة عند الوصول بسبب تصرفات مجموعة من الركاب المزعجة، طاقمنا مدرب لتقييم المواقف والتصرف بسرعة لضمان سلامة الرحلة والركاب».
وتأتي الحادثة وسط سلسلة من الاضطرابات على رحلات إيزي جيت، حيث شهدت رحلة أخرى من دالامان إلى مانشستر هبوطا اضطراريا في فرانكفورت في 24 مايو بسبب راكبة حاولت فتح باب الطوارئ، وأخرى في أبريل اضطرت للهبوط في فارو بعد أن أصيب راكب بهلوسة.
وتعهدت الشرطة البرتغالية بالتحقيق في الحادثة، بينما يواصل الركاب الآخرون مطالبتهم بتشديد الرقابة على استهلاك الكحول والسلوكيات المزعجة على متن الطائرات.
A British EasyJet flight, headed from Gatwick Airport in London to Marrakech in Morocco, was forced to divert and make an emergency landing at Faro Airport in Portugal after six men celebrating a "bachelor party" caused disturbances on board.
A report published by the British newspaper "Metro," citing eyewitnesses, revealed that "the group members smoked e-cigarettes, drank alcohol heavily, and directed verbal abuse at the flight crew, which angered the other passengers."
Aaron Davis, one of the passengers from Newport in South Wales, stated that two members of the group were openly using e-cigarettes and behaving in a "disgusting" manner, adding that the flight crew warned the group six times before deciding to divert the flight. He continued, "Their behavior was unacceptable, but the crew was fantastic in handling the situation and deserves praise for their professionalism."
After the captain announced the emergency landing in Faro, the plane was met by eight Portuguese police officers, who escorted the group off the aircraft amid cheers from the other passengers, as the incident delayed the flight, affecting passengers who were planning to spend their holiday in Marrakech.
EasyJet issued a statement saying: "Flight EZY from Gatwick to Marrakech had to divert to Faro and was met by police upon arrival due to the disruptive behavior of a group of passengers. Our crew is trained to assess situations and act quickly to ensure the safety of the flight and passengers."
The incident comes amid a series of disturbances on EasyJet flights, as another flight from Dalaman to Manchester made an emergency landing in Frankfurt on May 24 due to a passenger attempting to open the emergency door, and another in April had to land in Faro after a passenger suffered from hallucinations.
The Portuguese police have pledged to investigate the incident, while other passengers continue to call for stricter monitoring of alcohol consumption and disruptive behaviors on board flights.
