وخلال المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقد قبيل المباراة، سُئل إنريكي عن ما إذا كان باريس سان جيرمان أصبح فريقًا أفضل الآن بدون مبابي بعد انضمام اللاعب إلى ريال مدريد، ليرد قائلاً: «هذا سؤال يتعلق بالماضي، وأنا هنا لأركز فقط على المستقبل، وليس الحديث عن ما مضى».
واعترف المدرب الإسباني بأن مواجهة لاعبه السابق تضيف نكهة خاصة لمواجهة اليوم.
