The national coach Bandar Al-Jaithen confirmed that the final match between the Saudi national team and its Emirati counterpart in the conclusion of "Gulf 27" this evening (Tuesday) will be different, carrying multiple technical and psychological calculations. He pointed out that both teams have been among the most prominent teams that presented high technical levels throughout the tournament, whether in terms of possession or technical performance, in addition to the significant role of the changes made by the coaches, which contributed to altering the course of several matches.
Al-Jaithen explained, in a special interview with "Okaz," that the Emirati team possesses experience and capabilities, indicating that the Emirati group excels in managing and handling matches well, while the support of the Saudi crowd will be an important motivator for the team, especially since several players are participating in the Gulf Cup for the first time. He noted that reaching the final will provide them with a great incentive to achieve the long-awaited title.
He pointed out that the Emirati team relies on a 4-3-3 formation, with good defensive organization and quick transitions from defense to attack and through balls. He emphasized that movement without the ball will be one of the key factors in the match, especially given the vast experience of the Emirati national team's coach and his knowledge of Saudi football and Saudi league players.
Regarding the Saudi team, Al-Jaithen said that the 4-2-3-1 formation has started to clearly show during the matches, with improved player movements, proximity of positions, and calmness in building from the back. He indicated that increasing numerical density in the attacking third will be important against the Emirati team.
He added that the Saudi team has elements capable of disrupting the Emirati defense, especially through the flanks, given the skills possessed by Sultan Mandash and Abu Al-Shamat, while emphasizing the importance of keeping Firas Al-Buraikan close to the penalty area to capitalize on opportunities and score.
Al-Jaithen stressed the importance of mental focus and psychological readiness in final matches, confirming that pressuring the Emirati players and preventing them from building attacks and possessing the ball will be among the main keys to success, noting that the Emirati team has the ability to control possession and manage the match if given space and time.
On the defensive side, he explained that the Saudi team has an advantage in dealing with high balls with the presence of players like Jihad and Al-Amri, expecting the match to be enjoyable and open from both sides, and that one of the teams will clinch the title during regular time, without reaching penalties.
Al-Jaithen also pointed out the importance of the left flank, which could witness a significant presence from Hamam Al-Hamami, due to his ability to move and create attacking solutions, emphasizing that the diversity of attacks and exploiting spaces will be important factors in facing the Emirati defensive organization.
He concluded his remarks by affirming that the Saudi team is close to achieving the title, wishing that the players succeed in leveraging the crowd support and performing at a level that leads the "Green" to win the Gulf Cup.
