أكد مهاجم المنتخب السعودي عبدالله الحمدان أن لاعبي «الأخضر» يتحملون كامل المسؤولية عن الخسارة أمام منتخب إسبانيا، مشدداً على أن الفريق لن يبحث عن أي مبررات أو أعذار بعد النتيجة الثقيلة.
وقال الحمدان في تصريحات عقب المباراة: «الحمد لله على كل حال، لم نقدم المستوى الذي يشفع لنا لتحقيق نتيجة إيجابية. لعبنا أمام أحد أفضل المنتخبات في العالم، وكان منتخب إسبانيا الأفضل ويستحق النتيجة».
وأضاف: «نعرف حجم غضب الجماهير، وصدقوني نحن أكثر غضباً منهم. نشعر بغضب الجماهير وغضبنا أكبر، لكننا نتحمل المسؤولية كاملة ولن نبحث عن الأعذار، لأن هدفنا منذ البداية كان التأهل».
وأشار مهاجم «الأخضر» إلى أن التركيز بات منصباً على المواجهة القادمة، قائلاً: «الخسارة صعبة ونحن نشعر بما تشعر به الجماهير، لكن هدفنا جميعاً هو العبور إلى الدور الثاني. أمامنا مباراة مصيرية، والتأهل لا يزال بأيدينا، وعلينا أن نظهر رد فعل قوياً».
واختتم الحمدان حديثه برسالة تفاؤل إلى الجماهير السعودية، مؤكداً: «بإذن الله سنعمل على تصحيح الأخطاء وإسعاد جماهيرنا في المباراة القادمة، ونأمل أن نلتقي بعد أربعة أيام ونحن نحتفل بالتأهل إلى الدور التالي».
Saudi national team striker Abdullah Al-Hamdan confirmed that the players of the "Green" team bear full responsibility for the loss against the Spanish national team, emphasizing that the team will not look for any justifications or excuses after the heavy result.
Al-Hamdan said in statements after the match: "Thank God for everything, we did not present the level that justifies us achieving a positive result. We played against one of the best teams in the world, and the Spanish team was the better one and deserved the result."
He added: "We know the extent of the fans' anger, and believe me, we are more angry than they are. We feel the fans' anger, and our anger is greater, but we take full responsibility and will not look for excuses, because our goal from the beginning was qualification."
The "Green" striker pointed out that the focus is now on the upcoming match, saying: "The loss is difficult, and we feel what the fans feel, but our goal is to advance to the second round. We have a crucial match ahead of us, and qualification is still in our hands, and we must show a strong reaction."
Al-Hamdan concluded his remarks with a message of optimism to the Saudi fans, affirming: "God willing, we will work on correcting the mistakes and making our fans happy in the next match, and we hope to meet again in four days celebrating our qualification to the next round."
