تغلّب فريق العلا من منطقة المدينة المنورة على ضيفه فريق الاتحاد من جدة في قمة الجولة الخامسة من الدوري السعودي الممتاز لكرة السلة، بنتيجة (82-78)، في اللقاء الذي جمعهما، (الجمعة)، على صالة مدينة الأمير محمد بن عبدالعزيز الرياضية بالمدينة المنورة.
وأنهى الاتحاد الربع الأول متقدماً بنتيجة (23-17)، قبل أن يتمكن العلا من تقليص الفارق والتقدم مع نهاية الربع الثاني بنتيجة (40-38).
واستعاد الاتحاد تفوقه في الربع الثالث (60-55)، إلا أن العلا قدّم أداءً قويّاً في الربع الأخير مكّنه من حسم اللقاء لصالحه بنتيجة (82-78).
وبرز في صفوف العلا اللاعب وائل عرقجي الذي سجل (27) نقطة، فيما كان أفضل مسجل لفريق الاتحاد اللاعب الأمريكي سي كيه نيل بالرصيد ذاته (27) نقطة.
The Al-Ula team from the Medina region defeated its guest, the Al-Ittihad team from Jeddah, in the top match of the fifth round of the Saudi Professional Basketball League, with a score of (82-78), in the game that took place on (Friday) at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Medina.
Al-Ittihad ended the first quarter leading with a score of (23-17), before Al-Ula managed to reduce the gap and take the lead by the end of the second quarter with a score of (40-38).
Al-Ittihad regained its advantage in the third quarter (60-55), but Al-Ula delivered a strong performance in the final quarter that allowed them to secure the victory with a score of (82-78).
Wail Arakji stood out for Al-Ula, scoring (27) points, while the top scorer for Al-Ittihad was the American player C.K. Neal, also with (27) points.
