شهدت قائمة منتخب الجزائر التي أعلنها المدرب فلاديمير بيتكوفيتش استدعاء حارس مرمى فريق غرناطة الإسباني لوكا زيدان (نجل الأسطورة زين الدين زيدان)، وذلك للمرة الأولى منذ إعلان الاتحاد الجزائري لكرة القدم في 19 سبتمبر الماضي تغيير حارس المرمى لوكا زيدان جنسيته الرياضية واختياره تمثيل منتخب الجزائر على منتخب فرنسا الذي مثله في الفئات العمرية كافة.
ورغم أن لوكا زيدان بدأ مسيرته الاحترافية مع ريال مدريد إلا أن ذروة تألقه كانت مع رايو فاليكانو الذي ساهم في صعوده إلى دوري الدرجة الأولى الإسباني قبل الانتقال إلى إيبار ومنه إلى غرناطة في صيف 2024.
ويستعد منتخب الجزائر لمواجهة منتخبي الصومال وأوغندا ضمن تصفيات كأس العالم 2026، ويحتاج محاربو الصحراء إلى الفوز في إحدى المباراتين فقط لضمان التواجد في الحدث العالمي الكبير الصيف القادم.
