صنّفت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية مسؤولاً بارزاً في جماعة الإخوان، إلى جانب 3 أفراد و3 كيانات بتهمة تقديم دعم مالي لحركة حماس، في خطوة أعلنت الخارجية الأمريكية أنها تأتي ضمن جهود واشنطن لتجفيف منابع تمويل الإرهاب.
وأكدت الخارجية الأمريكية أن الأشخاص والكيانات المشمولين بالعقوبات يقيمون خارج مصر، موضحة أن واشنطن تعمل على تفكيك الشبكات المالية التابعة لجماعة الإخوان وحماس.
وأضافت الوزارة أن جماعة الإخوان وحماس تديران منظمات واجهة تُستخدم لنقل الأموال وتقديم الدعم المالي، مشيرة إلى أن الإجراءات الجديدة تستهدف تعطيل هذه الشبكات والحد من قدرتها على تمويل الأنشطة الإرهابية.
The United States has designated a prominent official in the Muslim Brotherhood, along with 3 individuals and 3 entities, for allegedly providing financial support to Hamas, in a move that the U.S. State Department announced is part of Washington's efforts to cut off the funding sources for terrorism.
The U.S. State Department confirmed that the individuals and entities included in the sanctions are based outside of Egypt, stating that Washington is working to dismantle the financial networks associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.
The department added that the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas operate front organizations used to transfer money and provide financial support, noting that the new measures aim to disrupt these networks and limit their ability to fund terrorist activities.
