أعلنت محكمة التحكيم الرياضية (كاس) إيقاف أربعة رياضيين من جورجيا، بينهم بطل رفع الأثقال ريفاز دافيتادزه والمصارع نيكا كينتشادزه، لمدة أربع سنوات، بعد رفضها حكما مدنيا كان قد برّأهم من تهمة تعاطي المنشطات.
وكانت نتائج اختبارات دافيتادزه (الفائز بفضية بطولة العالم لرفع الأثقال 2024) وكينتشادزه (صاحب برونزية العالم في المصارعة 2021) قد جاءت إيجابية لمادة محظورة عام 2023.
وعاقبتهم الوكالة الجورجية لمكافحة المنشطات والوكالة العالمية لمكافحة المنشطات (وادا) بالإيقاف أربع سنوات، قبل أن تقضي محكمة مدنية في تبليسي في يونيو 2024 بأن المادة أُضيفت إلى مشروباتهم عمدا من طرف ثالث، وهو ما دفع اللجنة التأديبية الجورجية إلى رفع العقوبة.
لكن الـ«وادا» والاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال استأنفا القرار أمام محكمة التحكيم الرياضية التي أصدرت حكمها الأربعاء، مؤكدة أن قرار المحكمة المدنية يفتقر إلى الأدلة الواقعية الكافية ويتعارض مع النتائج العلمية، ليُعَاد فرض عقوبة الإيقاف على الرياضيين الأربعة.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced the suspension of four athletes from Georgia, including weightlifting champion Revaz Davitadze and wrestler Nika Kintchadze, for four years, after rejecting a civil ruling that had acquitted them of doping charges.
The test results for Davitadze (the silver medalist at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships) and Kintchadze (the bronze medalist at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships) were positive for a banned substance in 2023.
The Georgian Anti-Doping Agency and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) imposed a four-year suspension on them, before a civil court in Tbilisi ruled in June 2024 that the substance had been intentionally added to their drinks by a third party, which led the Georgian disciplinary committee to lift the penalty.
However, WADA and the International Weightlifting Federation appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which issued its ruling on Wednesday, confirming that the civil court's decision lacked sufficient factual evidence and contradicted scientific findings, thereby reinstating the suspension for the four athletes.
