وجه الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم اتهاماً رسمياً لنادي تشلسي بارتكاب 74 مخالفة للوائح وكلاء اللاعبين بين عامي 2009 و2022، أغلبها خلال فترة ملكية الملياردير الروسي رومان أبراموفيتش، خصوصاً بين موسمي 2010-2011 و2015-2016.
وحدد الاتحاد موعداً للرد على الاتهامات ينتهي في 19 سبتمبر من الشهر الجاري، ما يضع النادي أمام ضغط إداري قبل أسبوع حافل بالمباريات المهمة. ويستعد تشلسي لمواجهة برينتفورد في الدوري الإنجليزي، ثم بايرن ميونيخ في دوري أبطال أوروبا، وسط صدمة هذه الاتهامات التي قد تؤثر على الأجواء الداخلية للفريق.
وكان النادي قد تحرك سريعاً وأصدر بياناً رسمياً للرد على بيان اتحاد الكرة في بلاد الإنجليز، وقال إنه أبلغ بنفسه عن المخالفات، وإن تعاونه مع الاتحاد قد وصل إلى خط النهاية، على أن يتم التعاون من أجل إنهاء هذه القصة بأسرع وقت ممكن. وأشار بيان تشلسي إلى أن كل التهم الموجهة للنادي تمت في عهد المالك السابق للنادي رومان أبراموفيتش.
