The Saudi national team under 19 years old has qualified for the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup under 20 years, after defeating the Qatar national team with two goals to none. Yemen also advanced after its victory over Kuwait with the same result, in the conclusion of the first group matches of the tournament currently taking place in Abha, Saudi Arabia.

At the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Al-Mahala, our national team entered its match against Qatar with a lineup consisting of: Abdullah Al-Muhaysin (goalkeeper), Hussein Jadaoui, Awaji Alwan, Amjad Haraj, Yasser Al-Dhafiri, Mohammed Flatih, Talal Al-Harithi, Nawaf Al-Dosari, Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Fares bin Salem, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari. The stars of the Green controlled the course of the match, resulting in a penalty kick awarded to them, which Abdulaziz Al-Shammari successfully converted into the first goal for the Green (min: 59). In stoppage time, substitute Abdulrazak Awaji managed to double the score by scoring the second goal for the Saudi team (min: 90+1), ending the match with a victory for the Green by two goals to none.

With this result, our national team tops the first group with 7 points from two wins and a draw, having scored 4 goals and conceded only one, qualifying deservedly for the semi-finals and setting up a meeting with the second team from the second group.

At the Damak Club Stadium, Yemen defeated Kuwait with two clean goals, scored by: Abdullah Al-Duqain from a penalty (min: 45+3) and Adel Abbas (min: 68), marking Yemen's second victory and reaching six points, placing them in second place and qualifying for the semi-finals.

The group stage matches will conclude tomorrow evening, Thursday, with two matches in the second group, where the leader, Iraq (6 points), will face Oman, the third team in the group (3 points). Iraq has two chances to qualify: either by winning or drawing, while Oman enters with a chance to win and with a goal difference after its heavy loss to the Bahraini team. In the second match, Bahrain, the runner-up in the group (3 points), will face Egypt, the bottom team in the group with no points. Bahrain has two chances: to win or draw, but on the condition that Oman stumbles with a draw or loss.
