The management of Al-Qadisiyah Club has officially completed the procedures for the return of international star Yasser Al-Shahrani to the first football team until 2027, after more than 12 years spent with Al-Hilal and the Saudi national team, during which he achieved many accomplishments and titles.
Al-Shahrani began his football career at the club that nurtured his talent from a young age, contributing to the refinement of his technical and physical abilities in the left-back position, steadily carving his path to stardom. In 2012, he moved to Al-Hilal in a deal that marked a significant turning point in his career, where he shone brightly on both local and international levels, becoming one of the most prominent stars of Saudi football. Throughout his journey with Al-Hilal, Al-Shahrani recorded a golden history filled with titles, as he won the AFC Champions League twice (2019 and 2021), the Saudi Professional League 6 times, in addition to the King’s Cup 5 times, the Saudi Super Cup 5 times, along with the Crown Prince Cup twice, and the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup twice. He was also a key player for the Saudi national team, participating in major continental and global tournaments.
Al-Shahrani's return does not merely represent a new contract signing; it means a lot to Al-Qadisiyah Club and its fans. It is the return of a leader and role model, a symbol who started from here, then ascended the ladder of glory and raised the flag of the nation in major forums.
For his part, former professional director Mohammed Al-Dal'an congratulated player Yasser Al-Shahrani on his return to his club Al-Qadisiyah, affirming that "Al-Shahrani still has much to offer the Qadisiyah team, especially since he is one of the disciplined players both on and off the field and has good relationships with everyone. God willing, he will be a significant addition to the team during the new season."
Al-Dal'an revealed in his talk to "Okaz" the secrets of Al-Shahrani's transfer to Al-Hilal in 2012, stating that he went to Al-Hilal on loan for one season for an amount of 6 million riyals during the presidency of Abdullah Al-Hazzaa. He then transferred permanently in a deal considered the highest at the time for a left-back position, as the deal was made for 15 million riyals during the tenure of the acting president of Al-Qadisiyah, Dawood Al-Qusaybi, and was completed in two installments. The president of Al-Hilal at that time was Prince Abdulrahman bin Musaad. Al-Dal'an, who was the professional director at Al-Qadisiyah, confirmed that the club received three offers for Al-Shahrani's transfer from Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, and Al-Ahli, but Al-Hilal's offer was the highest, in addition to the player's desire to move to Al-Hilal.
