Italian club Fiorentina officials have set their sights on Al Ahly captain, Ivorian player Franck Kessié, to be the next signing for the first football team.
Italian sports channel Sky confirmed that Fiorentina is pushing to sign Franck Kessié, and in the coming days, the Viola will have further communications with the player and his agents to try to convince him to return to Italy.
Fiorentina is looking to strengthen the midfield, especially since Kessié has a good relationship with Serie A after his experience at Milan.
The Italian channel confirmed that Fiorentina officials are serious about Franck Kessié, the new Ivorian target for the Viola's midfield, and they are working to bring him back to Italy. The purple club insists on continuing negotiations with the player and his agents in the coming days to convince him to accept the offer from Italian coach Stefano Pioli, the former coach of Al Nassr, who oversaw Kessié during his time at AC Milan. Pioli aims to replicate that experience with Fiorentina.
On the Al Ahly side, German coach Matthias Jaissle is keen on retaining Kessié, who is a key player for the team, having played 77 matches since his arrival two seasons ago, scoring 14 goals and assisting 9. He also won the AFC Champions League title with Al Ahly, and the Ivorian player's contract with the club runs until 2026.
It is worth noting that Al Ahly's training camp is currently taking place in Italy, and the team played its first match in the Como Cup against the home team, Como, losing 1-3. Franck Kessié started the match and contributed to his team's only goal in that encounter.
