In a strange incident, Cameroon national team coach Mark Bress denied his resignation from his position just 72 hours after the Cameroon Football Federation announced that it had received an official letter from the coach informing them of his resignation. Mark Bress then stated that his email had been hacked and the resignation letter was sent to the Cameroon Federation, affirming his continuation in his role as the coach of the Cameroon national team.

The alleged message contained a resignation letter from the coach due to the non-payment of his and his coaching staff's salaries for 60 days. Following this, the Cameroon Federation announced the receipt of the coach's resignation and that they were working on finding solutions to mitigate the impact of the vacancy at this time.

These events come five months before the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled in Morocco, and before the fate of the team is decided in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

It is worth mentioning that the relationship between coach Bress and Cameroon Football Federation president Samuel Eto'o has been tense since he took over coaching the team by decision and funding from the Ministry of Sports.
