اعتمد الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ممثلاً في لجنة المسابقات مشاركة نادي الأهلي في كأس السوبر السعودي 2025-2026 والتي ستقام في هونغ كونغ بدلاً عن الهلال الذي قدم اعتذاره بخطاب رسمي لاتحاد الكرة أمس (الإثنين).
وجاء اختيار الأهلي للمشاركة في السوبر السعودي لاحتلاله المركز الخامس في جدول ترتيب دوري روشن السعودي بعد الاتحاد بطل الدوري والوصيف الهلال والثالث النصر والرابع القادسية، وبذلك سيكون جدول لقاءي نصف نهائي كأس السوبر كالتالي: الاتحاد × النصر 19 أغسطس، القادسية × الأهلي 20 أغسطس، وسيكون النهائي 23 أغسطس، وستقام جميع اللقاءات في هونغ كونغ في تمام الثالثة بتوقيت السعودية.
وستتنافس الفرق الأربعة على لقب البطولة، ففريق القادسية يسعى لتحقيقها في مشاركته الأولى، فيما يطمح الاتحاد والأهلي لتحقيقها للمرة الثانية في تاريخهما، بينما يبحث النصر عن لقبه الثالث، ويتصدر الهلال قائمة أكثر الفرق تحقيقاً للقب بواقع 5 مرات، فيما حقق الوصافة مرتين، ويليه النصر الذي حقق اللقب مرتين والوصافة 3 مرات، والاتحاد حققها مرة والوصافة 3 مرات، فيما حققها الفتح والشباب والأهلي مرة واحدة، وحصد الوصافة كل من التعاون والفيصلي والفيحاء مرة واحدة.
ويعد القادسية الفريق رقم 11 الذي يظهر في هذه البطولة بعد كل من؛ الهلال، النصر، الاتحاد، الفتح، الشباب، الأهلي، التعاون، الفيصلي، الفيحاء، الوحدة.

The Saudi Football Federation, represented by the Competitions Committee, has approved the participation of Al-Ahli Club in the Saudi Super Cup 2025-2026, which will be held in Hong Kong, replacing Al-Hilal, which submitted an official apology to the Football Federation yesterday (Monday).
Al-Ahli was chosen to participate in the Saudi Super Cup for finishing fifth in the Roshan Saudi League standings, following the league champion Al-Ittihad, the runner-up Al-Hilal, the third-place Al-Nasr, and the fourth-place Al-Qadisiyah. Thus, the schedule for the two semi-final matches of the Super Cup will be as follows: Al-Ittihad vs. Al-Nasr on August 19, Al-Qadisiyah vs. Al-Ahli on August 20, with the final taking place on August 23. All matches will be held in Hong Kong at 3 PM Saudi time.
The four teams will compete for the championship title, with Al-Qadisiyah aiming to achieve it in their first participation, while Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli aspire to win it for the second time in their history. Meanwhile, Al-Nasr is looking for its third title, and Al-Hilal tops the list of teams with the most titles, having won it 5 times, while finishing as runner-up twice. Al-Nasr has won the title twice and been runner-up 3 times, Al-Ittihad has won it once and been runner-up 3 times, while Al-Fateh, Al-Shabab, and Al-Ahli have each won it once. Al-Taawun, Al-Faisaly, and Al-Faiha have each finished as runner-up once.
