Al-Qadisiyah officially announced the signing of Atalanta's Italian striker Matteo Retegui to strengthen the first football team during the upcoming sports season. Retegui joined the first football team's camp currently taking place in the Netherlands after passing the medical examinations, following negotiations that lasted nearly two weeks.

For its part, the Al-Qadisiyah administration appointed Ahmed Abshan as the manager of the first football team. Abshan is considered one of the national talents who have served Al-Qadisiyah for many years through the youth categories as well as the futsal team, and he worked as an administrator for the football team during the last season.

Al-Okaz had indicated in its issue published on Sunday, July 6, about radical changes in the first football team at both the administrative level and among the Qadisiyah players.
