يستعد المنتخب السعودي لرفع الأثقال للمشاركة في بطولة آسيا للناشئين والشباب، التي تستضيفها العاصمة الكازاخستانية أستانا، خلال الفترة من (4 - 10) يوليو الجاري، بمشاركة أكثر من (200) لاعب يمثلون (23) دولة.
ويمثل الأخضر في المحفل الآسيوي خمسة لاعبين بقيادة المدرب إبراهيم سامادوف، ومساعده عقيل الحبيل، وهم: محمد الزوري، وعبدالله القيصوم، ويوسف المدرهم، وعلي خليتيت، ومحمد المرزوق.
وستكون الأوزان المعتمدة من اللجنة الفنية للاتحاد الدولي، للناشئين، (60) كجم، (65) كجم، (71) كجم، (79) كجم، (88) كجم، (94) كجم، (110) كجم، ( 110) كجم، والشباب، (60) كجم، (65) كجم، (71) كجم، (79) كجم، (88) كجم، (94) كجم، (11) كجم، ( 110) كجم.
وأكد رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لرفع الأثقال الأمين العام للاتحاد الآسيوي محمد الحربي، أن هذه البطولة ستشهد منافسة قوية بين المنتخبات المشاركة لحصد الميداليات كونها أول بطولة تشهد استحداثا في الأرقام القياسية والأوزان الجديدة، مؤكدا أن المنتخب السعودي يمتلك لاعبين مميزين سيكون لهم حضور قوي في المنافسات بشكل مشرف.

The Saudi weightlifting team is preparing to participate in the Asian Championship for juniors and youth, which will be hosted by the Kazakh capital, Astana, from July 4 to 10, with the participation of more than 200 athletes representing 23 countries.
The Green team will be represented at the Asian event by five athletes led by coach Ibrahim Samadov and his assistant Aqeel Al-Habeel, namely: Mohammed Al-Zouri, Abdullah Al-Qaisoum, Youssef Al-Mudharim, Ali Khalitit, and Mohammed Al-Marzouq.
The weight categories approved by the technical committee of the International Federation for juniors are 60 kg, 65 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 94 kg, and 110 kg, while for youth, the categories are 60 kg, 65 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 94 kg, and 110 kg.
Mohammed Al-Harbi, the president of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation and the Secretary-General of the Asian Federation, confirmed that this championship will witness strong competition among the participating teams for medals, as it is the first championship to introduce new records and weight categories. He emphasized that the Saudi team has outstanding athletes who will have a strong presence in the competitions in an honorable manner.
