أُقيل مدرب منتخب الصين لكرة القدم برانكو إيفانكوفيتش بعد إخفاقه في قيادة الفريق إلى مونديال 2026 بحسب ما أعلن اتّحاد كرة القدم الصيني.
ويأتي هذا القرار بعد سلسلة من الإخفاقات في التصفيات الآسيوية المؤهلة للمونديال المقرر العام القادم في الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك.
وتبخرت آمال الصين بخسارتها أمام إندونيسيا 0-1 مطلع يونيو الجاري، ثم حلّت وصيفة لقاع مجموعتها في الدور الثالث، بواقع 7 خسارات في 10 مباريات.
وتمّ فسخ عقد المدرب تلقائياً، وفقاً للشروط المنصوص عليها، ويحتل المنتخب الصيني المركز 94 في التصنيف العالمي.
ويملك الكرواتي برانكو سجلاً حافلاً بالإنجازات في كرة القدم الآسيوية، إذ سبق له قيادة منتخب إيران عام 2002 وحصل معه على المركز الثالث في كأس آسيا 2004، وتأهل إلى نهائيات كأس العالم
2006، كما درب الوحدة الإماراتي، ومنتخب عمان، وبيرسبوليس الإيراني الذي فاز معه بـ7 بطولات خلال الفترة من 2015 حتى 2019، كما وصل الفريق معه إلى نهائي دوري أبطال آسيا 2018، قبل الخسارة في النهائي أمام كاشيما الياباني.
وفي السعودية خاض برانكو تجربتين، الأولى مع الاتفاق موسم 2011، والثانية كانت تجربة قصيرة مع الأهلي في موسم 2019، إذ لم تستمر سوى 5 مباريات فقط قبل أن تتم إقالته من منصبه.

The coach of the Chinese national football team, Branko Ivanković, has been dismissed after failing to lead the team to the 2026 World Cup, as announced by the Chinese Football Association.
This decision comes after a series of failures in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup scheduled for next year in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
China's hopes were dashed after losing to Indonesia 0-1 earlier this June, and they ended up at the bottom of their group in the third round, with 7 losses in 10 matches.
The coach's contract was automatically terminated, according to the stipulated terms, and the Chinese national team is currently ranked 94th in the world rankings.
Croatian Branko has an impressive record of achievements in Asian football, having previously led the Iranian national team in 2002, where he secured third place in the 2004 AFC Asian Cup and qualified for the World Cup
in 2006. He also coached Al-Wahda in the UAE, the Oman national team, and Persepolis in Iran, with whom he won 7 titles from 2015 to 2019, and reached the final of the AFC Champions League in 2018, before losing in the final to Kashima Antlers of Japan.
In Saudi Arabia, Branko had two experiences, the first with Al-Ettifaq in the 2011 season, and the second was a brief stint with Al-Ahli in the 2019 season, which lasted only 5 matches before he was dismissed from his position.
