The Al-Qadisiyah Club preferred not to participate in the Gulf Champions League as it finished fourth in the Roshen Saudi League last season, which qualifies it for participation in the tournament according to the regulations of the Saudi Football Federation. Instead, the club will focus on local competitions (the league and the King’s Cup) and aim to secure a qualifying spot for the Asian Elite League. In light of Al-Qadisiyah's withdrawal, the Football Federation nominated Al-Shabab Club for the Gulf participation, according to the statement issued by the Football Federation through its official account on the social media platform "X," which mentioned "Al-Qadisiyah's withdrawal from participating in the Gulf tournament." It revealed that Al-Shabab Club will participate in the Gulf tournament next season, as it finished sixth in the Roshen League, while Al-Ahli, which finished fifth, will participate in the Asian Elite League as the champion of the previous edition. Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal will also join, while Al-Nassr will compete in the AFC Champions League 2 as it finished third in the Saudi league. Al-Shabab will be the fifth representative of Saudi football in international tournaments during the upcoming season.
