احتفت اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية باليوم الأولمبي العالمي 2025، بحضور نائب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد، والرئيس التنفيذي الأمين العام للجنة عبدالعزيز بن أحمد باعشن، والسفير الياباني لدى المملكة ياسوناري مورينو، ومشاركة عدد من منسوبي اللجنة الأولمبية والاتحادات واللجان والروابط الرياضية، في مركز التدريب الأولمبي بالرياض، تزامناً مع تأسيس اللجنة الأولمبية الدولية في 23 يونيو 1984.
واشتمل الاحتفال الذي استمر على مدى يوم كامل، على ممارسة عدد من الألعاب الرياضية، كالسهام، والبوتشيا، والاسكواش، والهجن، والبلياردو والسنوكر، وكرة الطاولة، وكرة الشبكة، والملاكمة، والرياضات الالكترونية، والهوكي، والمبارزة، ورفع الأثقال.
وأكد الأمير فهد بن جلوي، أن اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية، تلعب دوراً فاعلاً في تعزيز ممارسة ونشر الأنشطة الرياضية بين فئات المجتمع، من خلال إقامة فعالية اليوم الأولمبي، بهدف تعزيز مبادئ وقيم الحركة الأولمبية (الاحترام، الصداقة، التميز).
وأضاف أن الاتحادات واللجان والروابط الرياضية، شريك أساسي للجنة، في تنفيذ وتفعيل المبادرات المعززة، لنشر وممارسة الرياضة لكلا الجنسين، للمواطنين والمقيمين بالمملكة، على النحو الذي يسهم في تحقيق الأهداف المرجوّة من مثل هذه المبادرات.
من جهة أخرى، تسلم الرئيس التنفيذي الأمين العام عبدالعزيز باعشن، نماذج من الأدوات والمعدات الخاصة للعبة الكندو اليابانية، المقدمة من السفير الياباني ياسوناري مورينو.
وتسعى اليابان، إلى نشر اللعبة في أنحاء العالم، من خلال اللجان الأولمبية الوطنية، وفي مقدمتها اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية لمكانتها المرموقة آسيوياً وعالمياً.
The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee celebrated World Olympic Day 2025, with the presence of the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, the CEO and Secretary-General of the Committee, Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Baashan, the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Yasunari Morino, and the participation of several members of the Olympic Committee, federations, committees, and sports associations, at the Olympic training center in Riyadh, coinciding with the establishment of the International Olympic Committee on June 23, 1984.
The celebration, which lasted for a full day, included the practice of several sports, such as archery, boccia, squash, camel racing, billiards and snooker, table tennis, netball, boxing, esports, hockey, fencing, and weightlifting.
Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi emphasized that the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee plays an active role in promoting and spreading sports activities among various segments of society by organizing Olympic Day events, aimed at reinforcing the principles and values of the Olympic movement (respect, friendship, excellence).
He added that federations, committees, and sports associations are essential partners of the Committee in implementing and activating initiatives that promote the practice of sports for both genders, for citizens and residents in the Kingdom, in a way that contributes to achieving the desired goals of such initiatives.
On another note, the CEO and Secretary-General Abdulaziz Baashan received samples of tools and equipment for the Japanese sport of kendo, presented by the Japanese Ambassador Yasunari Morino.
Japan aims to spread the sport worldwide through national Olympic committees, foremost among them the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee due to its prestigious status in Asia and globally.
