وافتتح بابلو باريوس التسجيل لأتلتيكو مدريد في الدقيقة 11، فيما أضاف أكسيل فيتسيل الهدف الثاني في الدقيقة 47، لكن ألبيرت روسناك أحرز هدف سياتل الوحيد في الدقيقة 50، وعاد باريوس لهز الشباك من جديد محرزًا الهدف الثالث لأتلتيكو في الدقيقة 55.
وبهذه النتيجة حصل أتلتيكو على أول 3 نقاط له ليحتل المركز الثالث، بفارق الأهداف خلف سان جيرمان (المتصدر)، وبوتافوجو البرازيلي (الوصيف) المتساويين معه في ذات الرصيد، في المقابل جاء سياتل ساوندرز في قاع الترتيب بلا رصيد من النقاط.
