علمت «عكاظ» من مصادرها الخاصة أن عدة أسماء بدأت التنافس على الترشح لرئاسة نادي أبها الرياضي، مع اقتراب نهاية الفترة الحالية التي يرأسها الدكتور أحمد الحديثي، بعد قضائه 12 عامًا على رأس إدارة النادي خلال 3 فترات متتالية.
ويأتي هذا الحراك في ظل وعود دعم واسعة من قبل مهتمين بالشأن الرياضي، إضافة إلى أصدقاء وأقارب المرشحين من رجال الأعمال، كما ظهر في التفاعلات على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي. وقد شهدت الأيام القليلة الماضية زيارات لعدد من الراغبين في الترشح إلى مقر النادي، بهدف تقديم ملفاتهم الانتخابية استعداداً لخوض انتخابات الجمعية العمومية، التي يُتوقع أن تشهد تنافساً قوياً على منصب الرئاسة، في مشهد لم يشهده النادي منذ نحو عقدين.
من جهتهم، أكد عدد من المتابعين في الأوساط الإعلامية والمجتمعية، أن الترشح لرئاسة الأندية الرياضية يتطلب بالدرجة الأولى فكراً إدارياً ورياضياً ناضجاً، بعيداً عن السعي وراء البروز الإعلامي أو الظهور الشخصي على حساب مصلحة النادي.

In the past few days, several individuals wishing to run have visited the club's headquarters to submit their electoral files in preparation for the upcoming General Assembly elections, which are expected to witness strong competition for the presidency, a scene not seen at the club for nearly two decades.
For their part, a number of observers in media and community circles have confirmed that running for the presidency of sports clubs primarily requires mature administrative and sports thinking, away from the pursuit of media prominence or personal visibility at the expense of the club's interests.
