من هو الدكتور نبيل صيدح؟
الدكتور نبيل صيدح، من مواليد القاهرة بمصر، هو مدير وحدة أبحاث الغدد العصبية الحيوية في معهد مونتريال للأبحاث السريرية في كندا، كما يُعتبر أحد أبرز العلماء العرب في مجال الطب الحديث، حيث نشر أكثر من 820 بحثاً علمياً، وساهم في فهم آليات أمراض مثل الكبد الدهني، السمنة، السرطان، ودخول الفايروسات إلى الخلايا.
إنجازات نبيل صيدح
من أبرز إنجازاته اكتشاف إنزيم PCSK9، الذي يلعب دوراً حاسماً في تنظيم مستويات الكوليسترول في الدم، وساهم هذا الاكتشاف في تطوير أدوية تثبيط PCSK9، التي أحدثت ثورة في علاج ارتفاع الكوليسترول الضار، وقللت بشكل كبير من مخاطر النوبات القلبية والسكتات الدماغية لدى ملايين المرضى حول العالم.
ويُعد هذا الإنجاز تحولاً كبيراً في الطب القلبي، حيث جمع بين البحث النظري والتطبيق العملي.

ويأتي فوزه بجائزة «نوابغ العرب»، التي تُمنح في دورتها الثالثة، ليؤكد على دور العلماء العرب في تعزيز النهضة المعرفية، خصوصا في مجال الطب الذي ساهمت فيه المنطقة العربية تاريخياً بإسهامات كبيرة.
وأكد الشيخ محمد بن راشد في تدوينته: «الطب رسالة إنسانية، ومنطقتنا كان لها فضل كبير على مدى قرون في تطوير علومه، وجائزة نوابغ العرب تعيد البوصلة إلى مسارها الصحيح، لتحتفي بما يقدّمه الإنسان العربي، وتُظهره قدوةً للأجيال».
