أعلن الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم «كاف» العودة إلى نظام إقامة بطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية كل عامين، بدلاً من أربع سنوات.
وقال «كاف» في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي: «قررت اللجنة التنفيذية للاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم بالإجماع عودة بطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية لتُقام كل عامين».
أسباب القرار
وأضاف البيان: «جاءت عملية إعادة التقييم والمراجعة هذه، من بين أسباب أخرى، نتيجة إدراك أن مشروع «دوري الأمم الأفريقية» المقترح، وهو مسابقة قارية كان من المفترض أن تحل محل كأس الأمم الأفريقية وتُقام كل عامين، سيحتاج إلى عدة سنوات حتى يصبح قادراً على توفير الموارد المالية الضخمة اللازمة لضمان قدرة بطولات الاتحاد الأفريقي وكرة القدم الأفريقية على المنافسة عالمياً وتحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي».
مواعيد النسخ القادمة
وستُقام النسخة القادمة من بطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية عام 2027، في كل من كينيا وتنزانيا وأوغندا، على أن تُقام النسخ التالية في أعوام 2028 و2031 و2033.
ونظراً إلى إقامة كأس العالم عام 2030، فإنه وفقاً لتقاليد الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «فيفا»، لا تُقام نهائيات كأس الأمم الأفريقية أو بطولات المنتخبات الوطنية التابعة للاتحادات القارية الأخرى خلال العام الذي يشهد إقامة المونديال.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced the return to a biennial format for the Africa Cup of Nations, instead of every four years.
CAF stated in a statement on its official website: "The Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation has unanimously decided to return the Africa Cup of Nations to be held every two years."
Reasons for the Decision
The statement added: "This reevaluation and review process, among other reasons, came as a result of the realization that the proposed 'African Nations League' project, which was supposed to replace the Africa Cup of Nations and be held every two years, will need several years to be able to provide the massive financial resources necessary to ensure that CAF tournaments and African football can compete globally and achieve self-sufficiency."
Upcoming Editions
The next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in 2027, in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, with subsequent editions scheduled for 2028, 2031, and 2033.
Due to the World Cup taking place in 2030, according to FIFA traditions, the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations or national team tournaments under other continental federations will not be held in the year of the World Cup.
