In one of the most embarrassing and shocking live television scandals, the studio of the morning program on Channel 13 turned into a heated confrontation arena after actress and model Hili Goldenberg fell into the trap of open cameras, with her bold remarks that she thought were made in the safety of commercial breaks.
The meeting was supposed to be limited to discussing Goldenberg's work and artistic career, but the conversation completely spiraled out of control when the artist shocked the hosts and the audience with a bold political stance, firing at Israeli domestic policies by saying: "We are occupied, and everything happening now is a result of the occupation, the rise of extremism, the increase in settlement activities, Jewish terrorism, and arrogance." She even went so far as to compare the scene to South Africa's struggle against apartheid and resistance movements against the British mandate.
In the face of these shocking statements, the studio erupted in anger, as the hosts sharply interrupted her, completely rejecting any attempt to justify targeting civilians, which put the artist in a state of confusion, prompting her to try to soften the situation by talking about her love for Israel and her field volunteering to support residents in the Jewish towns near Gaza.
The biggest shock was not in the statements themselves, but in the moment when the hosts attempted to steer the conversation back to its artistic context, only to be blindsided by Goldenberg's question that left the studio in disbelief: "Were we on air?" The truth hit her like a thunderbolt as soon as she learned that the broadcast had not stopped, leading to an explosion of shock and protest, before she was forced to close the interview with a flustered apology to the viewers, justifying what happened by stating that she was unaware the red light of the cameras was indeed on.
