Al-Hazm coach Jalal Al-Qadri expressed his satisfaction with the technical level and fighting spirit displayed by his players against Al-Hilal, despite the loss, noting that his team performed exceptionally well both individually and collectively and succeeded in matching their opponent and creating significant opportunities.
Al-Qadri said to "Okaz": "The players delivered a great match and exerted exceptional effort, with some giving more than 100% of their capabilities. I am satisfied with the performance and spirit, but the result did not reflect what we presented."
He explained that Al-Hazm has shown good levels since the early rounds, citing the match against Al-Fateh where they remained ahead until the last moments before losing the result due to a lack of focus, emphasizing that small details make the difference.
In the press conference, he confirmed that stability within the club has contributed to forming a cohesive group of young players, according to a clear strategy aimed at building a competitive team.
He pointed out that what is reassuring is the character that Al-Hazm has begun to show against the big teams, citing the matches against Al-Ittihad in Jeddah and Al-Ahli, in addition to Al-Hilal, affirming that the team has become capable of keeping pace with competitors.
He added that building a competitive team cannot be achieved in one season; it requires stability, patience, and continuous work, considering the collective spirit shown by the players as a positive indicator.
Regarding Al-Hilal, he praised their offensive capabilities and ability to create danger through individual skills, numerical superiority on the flanks, quick transitions, and set pieces, explaining that facing them requires high defensive organization.
He noted that despite Al-Hilal's strong attack, they suffer from some defensive issues that can be exploited, affirming that they are capable of competing at the Asian level due to their distinguished elements.
He expressed regret over missed opportunities and one-on-one situations that could have changed the course of the match, stressing that such encounters do not offer many chances.
He confirmed that the criterion for participation is readiness and performance, without distinction between Saudi and foreign players, and that dealing with the group is based on technical fairness.
Regarding the national team, he congratulated the Green on their level, noting that Al-Hazm has local players deserving of attention, but he refrained from mentioning names to preserve the sensitivity of competition, affirming that the selection remains the prerogative of the coaching staff of the Green.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of separating performance from results, expressing confidence in his team's ability to translate good levels into positive results in the upcoming rounds.
