حقق المنتخب السعودي فوزاً على نظيره العراقي بنتيجة 2-0، مساء (الثلاثاء)، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثالثة من دور المجموعات في بطولة خليجي 27.
وبهذا الانتصار، واصل المنتخب السعودي صدارته للمجموعة بالعلامة الكاملة، بعدما كان قد ضمن التأهل إلى الدور نصف النهائي عقب الجولة الماضية.
وشهدت الدقيقة 38 فرصة للمنتخب العراقي، بعدما انفرد سيف رشيد بمرمى محمد العويس، حارس المنتخب السعودي، قبل أن يتدخل الحكم ويحتسب تسللاً على اللاعب.
وقبل صافرة نهاية الشوط الأول، تعرض مصطفى سعدون، لاعب المنتخب العراقي، لإصابة قوية أجبرته على مغادرة أرض الملعب، ليحل إبراهيم بايش بديلاً له. ومع بداية الشوط الثاني، أجرى مدرب المنتخب السعودي دونيس أول تبديلاته، بإشراك محمد القحطاني بدلاً من محمد أبو الشامات.
ونجح المنتخب السعودي في افتتاح التسجيل عند الدقيقة 54، عن طريق عبدالله آل سالم، بعدما استغل كرة عائدة من حارس مرمى العراق وأسكنها الشباك.
وفي الدقيقة 59، أجرى دونيس تبديلين دفعة واحدة، بمشاركة صالح أبو الشامات وفراس البريكان، بدلاً من عبدالله آل سالم وسلطان مندش.
وعزز عبدالله الحمدان تقدم المنتخب السعودي بتسجيل الهدف الثاني في الدقيقة 69، بعدما حصل على الكرة داخل منطقة الجزاء، قبل أن يسددها بقدمه اليسرى داخل الشباك.
وفي المباراة الأخرى ضمن المجموعة، قلب منتخب عُمان تأخره أمام الكويت إلى فوز بنتيجة 3-1، بعدما تقدم المنتخب الكويتي بهدف مبكر عن طريق شبيب الخالدي في الدقيقة السادسة.
وعاد المنتخب العُماني في الشوط الثاني بثلاثة أهداف حملت توقيع ناصر الرواحي «هدفين» ومصعب الشقصي، ليحسم المباراة لصالحه ويرفع رصيده إلى 4 نقاط، فيما بقي المنتخب الكويتي دون نقاط.

Abdullah Al-Hamdan strengthened the Saudi team's lead by scoring the second goal in the 69th minute, after receiving the ball inside the penalty area and firing it into the net with his left foot.
In another match within the group, the Oman national team turned their deficit against Kuwait into a victory with a score of 3-1, after the Kuwaiti team took an early lead with a goal from Shabeeb Al-Khaldi in the sixth minute.
The Omani team came back in the second half with three goals scored by Nasser Al-Rawahi (two goals) and Musab Al-Shuqasi, securing the match in their favor and raising their points to 4, while the Kuwaiti team remained without points.
