فتح المنتخب الإكوادوري صفحة جديدة بتعيين الأرجنتيني مارسيلو غاياردو مديرًا فنيًا للمنتخب الأول، في أول تجربة له على مستوى المنتخبات بعد مسيرة تدريبية حافلة مع الأندية.
وقدّم الاتحاد الإكوادوري مدربه الجديد برسالة مفعمة بالثقة: «نمتلك الموهبة والبنية والطموح.. نحن مستعدون. على الجماهير أن تؤمن، فلديها ما يدعوها إلى ذلك.. مرحبًا مارسيلو».
ويحمل غاياردو معه خبرة كبيرة صنع خلالها حقبة تاريخية مع ريفر بليت الأرجنتيني، توّجها بعدد من البطولات، أبرزها تحقيق كأس ليبرتادوريس مرتين، قبل خوض تجربة عربية مع الاتحاد السعودي.
وسبق للمدرب الأرجنتيني قيادة ناسيونال الأوروغوياني، وريفر بليت الأرجنتيني في فترتين، إضافة إلى الاتحاد السعودي، قبل أن يبدأ اليوم مغامرته الدولية الأولى من بوابة منتخب الإكوادور.
The Ecuadorian national team has turned a new page by appointing Argentine Marcelo Gallardo as the head coach of the senior team, marking his first experience at the national level after a successful coaching career with clubs.
The Ecuadorian Football Federation introduced its new coach with a message full of confidence: "We have the talent, the structure, and the ambition... We are ready. The fans should believe, as they have every reason to do so... Welcome, Marcelo."
Gallardo brings with him vast experience, having created a historic era with Argentine River Plate, crowned with several championships, most notably winning the Copa Libertadores twice, before embarking on an Arab experience with Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad.
The Argentine coach previously led Uruguay's Nacional and Argentina's River Plate in two separate terms, in addition to Al-Ittihad, before starting his first international adventure today with the Ecuadorian national team.
