As the race for preparations and nominations for the Ramadan drama season begins, the Egyptian artist Fatima Al-Kashef broke her long silence with statements on her official account, in which she made an urgent appeal to production companies and directors, expressing her sadness over the neglect and lack of participation in dramatic works after a career filled with awards.
The message that Al-Kashef wrote was not just an ordinary post, but rather a cry of pain that reflected the suffering of an entire generation of prominent artists in the face of the absence of nominations and the disregard for experience as the Ramadan race approaches.
The artist Fatima Al-Kashef began her post with words that express the extent of the psychological struggle she experienced before taking this step, saying: "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful... I hesitated a lot, but I am truly tired of the long silence and I don't know what to do?"
The silence imposed by market conditions on her career pushed her to overcome social embarrassment, to announce to everyone that acting is not just a passion, but the only lifeline that supports the children of this profession. Al-Kashef took advantage of the preparation period for new works and the setup for new dramatic nominations to address decision-makers in the artistic community directly, saying: "An urgent call to all respectable production companies, this is the time for nominations and role assignments... Please, we want to work, the absence has been long and this is our only source of livelihood."
She added with a tone that mixed regret with helplessness: "And we have no other projects... So is there anyone who will respond to our legitimate request?" pointing out that her full artistic dedication over the past decades has prevented her from building any work or side business outside this field. Al-Kashef concluded her open message with a sad, rhetorical question that shocked her audience and followers: "Or tell us what to do after spending a lifetime in this profession and receiving several awards for the roles I have presented... May God reward you well, with my best regards."
Hundreds of followers and artists interacted with Fatima Al-Kashef's message, expressing solidarity with her legitimate request and demanding that production companies respect the history of veteran artists and reintegrate them into the Ramadan dramatic landscape.
